Quantitative detection of different Circovirus described in ducks (barbarie/mulard/pekin).
Test indications
- Individual or pool diagnosis during a clinical suspicion
- Assessment of cloacal excretion of the virus in the absence of suggestive clinical signs in order to estimate the level of contamination of a site and adapt prophylactic measures (crawl space, disinfection, vaccination, etc.) or for epidemiological studies
Test characteristics
- Real-time RT-PCR
- Detection threshold
- Analyse quantitative
- Specific detection of Circoviruses described in ducks and no detection of goose circovirus
Samples to be taken
- organs: spleen(s), Fabricius purse(s)
- cloacal swab(s)
Interpretation of the result
Information regarding the vaccines used, the dates of vaccination and the clinical context are necessary for the interpretation of the result and must be indicated on the analysis request form.
- Positive result : presence of the circovirus in the sample analyzed. Interpretation based on measured viral load and clinical context.
- Negative result : absence of the circovirus or quantity below the detection threshold. Allows you to exclude an acute form of the disease.
