Beak and Feather Disease Virus (BFDV/PBFD)

Chlamydia psittaci

Ferret distemper

Psittacid polyomavirus

SARS-CoV2

HDV virus and Variant (RHDV1+RHDV2)

Quantitative detection of virus VHD (Viral Hemorrhagic Disease or Rabbit hemorrhagic viral disease) by real-time RT-PCR. The test allows the detection and quantification of viruses:

  • VHD classic strain
  • HDV strain variant 2010

Test indications

  • Individual or pool diagnosis during a clinical suspicion
  • Assessment of the quantity of environmental viruses (cage, feeder, etc.) in order to estimate the level of contamination of a site and adapt prophylactic measures (crawl space, disinfection, vaccination, etc.)

Test characteristics

Samples to be taken

  • Liver (not fixed) for clinical diagnosis (pool analysis: 3 samples maximum)
  • Environmental Swabs (Contact Us for practical details)

Interpretation of the result

Information regarding the vaccines used, the dates of vaccination and the clinical context are necessary for the interpretation of the result and must be indicated on the analysis request form.

  • Positive result: presence of the virus in the sample analyzed. Interpretation based on the viral load measured and the context of the analysis (diagnosis or environmental analysis).
  • Negative result : absence of virus or quantity below the detection threshold. Allows you to exclude an acute form of the disease.
